There may be no live show this week, but due to all the news from this past week and not wanting to fill up even more of the E3 coverage show next week, Ashley brings you a special podcast edition of The Open Book, mainly focused on gaming, but also mentions a bit of entertainment and wrestling. Some of the big gaming stories include a release date for Diablo 3 on consoles, a crazy special edition announced for Saints Row 4, a new model Wii U seems to be on its way as another gets discarded, the original Fable is getting an HD remake and more details coming from Microsoft on the Xbox One regarding the controller and clarification on the status of games in regards to trade-ins, selling and playing them. He also briefly mentions all the critical acclaim that The Last Of Us has been getting this week.
Finally, in part 2, Ash focuses more on E3 related news that has been revealed early, either by design or by accident. He runs down what happened on Konami’s pre-E3 video, including the reveal of the new voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid 5, and the impressive looking Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2. In other stories, games seemingly have been confirmed for Sony’s & Microsoft’s conferences, Respawn’s project is coming exclusively to Microsoft, Call Of Duty is having a special pre-E3 gameplay reveal on Sunday and expected prices for the new consoles. He also talks about some of the trailers that have already been revealed, including Deus Ex: The Fall, Thief 4 and Saints Row 4. Finally, there’s a few entertainment stories, with an opportunity to give money to charity which could give you the chance to name a comic book character from a big popular series, Matt Smith leaving Doctor Who and Benicio Del Toro is apparently signed on for a ‘major role’ in Guardians Of The Galaxy.
